Halliday Named to The Generalist’s Future 50 Startups to Watch

Halliday, the startup simplifying onchain complexities so developers will never have to write a smart contract again, has been named one of the most promising startups of 2025.

The Generalist Future 50, which looks at startups valued under $200 million at the time of nomination, has included Halliday in their 2025 list. The list, which includes companies from across fintech, AI, crypto, and others, is a look at the high-potential startups before they take off – or, as writer Mario Gabrielle has put it, “an early detection system for great companies.”

In their writeup, the Generalist noted Halliday’s Workflow Protocol, real-world traction, smooth Halliday Payments suite, and infrastructure that’s enabling blockchain’s software era as reasons for inclusion.

“Every blockchain application today requires developers to become part-time cryptography experts, protocol specialists, and multi-chain architects. This isn’t sustainable,” they write. “The technical overhead of smart contract development – from managing cross-chain execution to ensuring security across different protocols – has created a massive barrier between innovative ideas and working applications, limiting blockchain’s reach to those with deep pockets and specialized teams. Halliday believes it can change this dynamic entirely.”

“Building the best payments network in the world is only the beginning,” says Griffin Dunaif, CEO of Halliday. “We want to make it as easy as possible to launch apps and introduce programmable commerce to the greater financial system.”

The best way to see the Workflow Protocol in action is by using Halliday Payments, a global crypto payments platform. Halliday Payments uses intelligent routing to get users to the bridges, onramps, and other onchain platforms to the best possible experience for them. Learn more here.

About Halliday

Halliday is a blockchain company and product lab working to create a unified, cross-chain payments ecosystem. Its flagship product, Halliday Payments, is a unified API that makes it easy for users to onramp, swap, and take other onchain actions. Halliday’s products are built on the Workflow Protocol, which removes the need to code smart contracts by hand and enables breakthrough applications to ship in hours, not years.

Backed by a16z and #Hashed, Halliday has worked with prominent developers such as ApeChain, Story Protocol and DeFi Kingdoms to provide seamless experiences for both developers and users. The team includes alumni from Stanford, Harvard, Compound, Solana Foundation, Meta, Netflix, and more. Learn more at halliday.xyz.
